I keep reminding myself: "What can I do today that my future self will thank me for?

This weekend was a rough one. Between dealing with a family loss, navigating parenting young adults and just trying to show up for myself and be true to my own wellness, I felt like it was all too much.

But, my future-self voice asked: How will that impact me?

So I mustered up the strength to write down all my thoughts in my journal. Then, I prioritized what needed to be done and the things that I could not control, I drew a line through them...gone!

Driving into work, I put on a podcast and the speaker was talking about consistency. THERE IT WAS...my reminder that each day I had to be consistent in showing up for myself in order to be "in service" to others.

My purpose of service means that I have to know when to serve my own needs.

I am writing to share with someone that when life becomes full and your overwhelmed with all of the things...pause...pray and do something for yourself.

We all know the saying that you can't pour from an empty cup.

The truth is...you can't can't hold anything for long with a broken glass.

Rest. Repair. Restore...you and I deserve it.

With service in my heart and love,

Zyhkeya
